BOPP flow wrap looks simple when it's running well, and frustrating when it's not. Most issues trace back to a small set of causes — film tension, seal temperature, or product fit — that are usually a quick fix once you know where to look.
Wrinkled or Loose Film
Wrinkling usually points to film tension that's set too low, or a mismatch between film width and product size. Check tension settings first before assuming the film itself is the problem.
Weak or Incomplete Seals
A weak seal is typically a temperature issue — either too low to bond the film fully, or too high, which can cause the seal to distort instead of bonding cleanly. Small temperature adjustments usually resolve this faster than most people expect.
Film Tearing During the Wrap
Tearing often comes down to tension set too high, or product edges catching the film during the fold. If your product has sharp corners, that's worth flagging — some products need adjusted settings or a different film gauge entirely.
Inconsistent Cross-Seals
If lengthwise seals look fine but the end seals are inconsistent, check the cross-seal jaw temperature and timing separately — it's a different heating element than the longitudinal seal and can drift out of calibration independently.
